In this video I attempt to shoot pigeons out of the sky. When you view the video, it seems like it shouldn’t be too difficult to pluck them out of mid air, but this is not Nintendo Duck Hunt. The birds are moving very fast, requiring a substantial lead with the shot. They also change direction rapidly. And no matter how “thick” a flock of pigeons looks, there is MUCH more open space than “pigeon space”. I realize that many may attempt to use this video to demonize me – calling me a hypocrite for not adhering to the “one shot, one kill” philosophy. I knew that making might haunt me a bit. But, with a semi-auto, I could unload on any animals not killed immediately. This is something I can not do with my single shot. And this is also something that every bird hunter on earth must deal with. I’ve shot countless ducks and pheasants with a perfectly-placed shotgun blast – yet it still required a 2nd shot to finish them off. It’s just the way it is. Anyone who says otherwise is blowing smoke. Had I winged a bird, it would not have suffered long at all considering the rapid-fire accuracy of this gun. And I made certain to not fire on any that were flying over the corn field, so as not to lose them. I’m always torn between making long explanations [like this one] of my actions, or just getting to the footage . . .

@dumitru10ful Considering that you depend on agriculture for your life, and that pigeons are grain eaters, you should be thankful that people like Ted are good at what they do, and kill pests effectively. Oh, and don’t you realize that every time you buy food, you are paying farmers to kill pests for you? Kind of hypocritical to criticise him, when you pay him and people like him to kill pests every time you buy food.
