Diana Rws 34 Air Rifle
Looking for my air rifle first?
I'm looking to buy my first air rifle and I did my research and came to the conclusion that I had to buy a Diana RWS 34 Panther .22. Is this a good air rifle or are there better out there in the price range of 150 to $ 220. From what I found RWS airguns is reliable and accurate, and that's exactly what I'm looking for. What In any case, what are your suggestions and opinions?
If you're going to spend much money for a rifle, you should get a good one. The 34 RWS is generally considered the gold standard here. Its durable, reliable and accurate. It has a muzzle energy of about 15 lb-ft, which is more than sufficient for hunting small game animals (rabbits, squirrels, pigeons, etc. ..) to 50 meters. I would not use it to hunt raccoon washer size animals or larger, because they are bigger and tougher than most small game animals, but its probably a hunting gun. About the complaint I never heard of airguns RWS is that the scope mounting rail design is not perfect. It would be a very good choice if you are interested in a quality air pistol. If you decide not to go with a 34, then the Gamo CFX and Benjamin are two good options RWS 392 within your price range. The Gamo CFX is a .17 caliber, under lever, spring piston gun that should give you about 14-15 lb-ft of muzzle energy. The 392 is a pump Benjamin 8, .22 caliber, air rifle, which should give you about 13-14 lb-ft. Both should provide acceptable accuracy and reliability, if the 392 Benjamin is probably the best made of two rifles.
