    >>Pellet gun – Under $100 – 1,000fps velocity** – accurate to 100 yards< <

**Velocity is highly dependent on the weight of the pellet..light and ultra light weight pellets are often used to exaggerate the capability of an airgun. Notice how they always say "max" or "up to" xxxxfps , as if that means anything... If they give me the pellet(make/weight) they used to achieve those results, then their fps numbers would have meaning....

That's some mighty wishful thinking.......>If that rifle existed, everyone would own two

For around $100 you can get reasonable powerful, and reasonable accurate out to around 50 yards(not 100)

Spring piston air rifles for around $100
    Crosman Phantom
    Crosman Quest
    Crosman Storm XT
    Ruger Air Hawk
    Tech Force 97

Most Walmart’s carry the Crosman Storm XT

The least expensive air rifles that I would put the tag of “good” on, are the Benjamin 397(.177) or 392(.22), I happen to prefer the 397 because of the added velocity and flatter trajectory. 1/2in 3 shot groups at 30 yards are the norm with a 397…And the RWS 34, and again I prefer this one in .177, because you get around 900fps with 8gr pellets

IMO, for “sporting**” air rifles 900fps gives you the best combination of accuracy and trajectory.

Velocity> To high, pellets tend to become unstable and inaccurate as they approach & or exceed the speed of sound, and if the pellet is too slow, the trajectory suffers

**10M target rifles give their best results between 550-600fps

I have absolutely nothing against .22 caliber pellet guns. IMO, the .22 caliber RWS 350 Magnum ranks as one of the world’s best….Around 900fps with 14gr pellets and accurate to 75 yards, what’s not to like…
